Course Objectives :
To introduce Unit Civil Labour Officers to the fundamentals of civilian staff management in BFG and enable them to carry out their duties effectively.
During the course, the following areas will be covered:
a. An Introduction to the Civil Labour Function.
b. LEC Terms and Conditions of Employment as currently defined in:
(1) The Collective Tariff Agreement.
(2) SI BA(G) 6200.
c. Industrial Relations, including an introduction to the Federal Personnel Representation Law.
d.Works Councils, Dependant Representation and Arbitration.
e. Recruitment, Advertising and Selection.
f. Job Descriptions.
g. Security Vetting.
h. Pay and Allowances.
i. Discipline Policy, Rules and Procedures.
j. The Disciplinary Interview.
k. Absence Management.
l. Grading Procedure and Worksite Inspections.
m. Wages and Salary - Classifications and Group.
n. Inductions and Appraisals.
o. Labour Administration Support Inspections.
