| Change in the Government Accounting Rate (GAR) |
Please note that the GAR changed wef 01 Sep 10. The GAR now stands at 1.22. This in turn has had an effect on UK statutory payments such as Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay. These are converted from sterling to Euro's using the GAR. You can see the latest statutory payments by visiting our NI, Sick and Maternity pay page. Click here for more info. |
| Gütersloh GLSU enhance service by opening a new office in PRB! |
Gütersloh GLSU are pleased to announce the opening of their new office in Princess Royal Barracks on the 8th September 2010. The office will open each Wednesday from 0930 - 1600 and is situated upstairs in the GQM block. Use the side access door. |

Our new course booklet has now been circulated to all BFG units and all individuals which attended courses at the LEC Training Wing during this academic year. | UK Tax Information for Dependant Employees with British Forces Germany |

| Visit our new Vetting & CRB pages |
Security Vetting clearance is required for those working in military establishments and Criminal Records Bureau checks must be carried out on those working with children or vulnerable adults. This inevitably means gathering information and filling in forms. This can be frustrating and time consuming. Our new Vetting & CRB pages will hopefully give you an idea as to why the process needs to be carried out, what information you will need and which forms are required for the different clearance categories.
On viewing our various vacancy pages you will find an entry that tells you the level of clearance required. You can then click on the Vetting and CRB pages to see which forms are needed. You can even download the forms at home to complete them. You MUST however hand them in personally. They cannot be emailed or posted to the recruiting office.

| Change in German Hotel Room Charge Taxation |
With effect from 01 January 2010 the German Government changed the way in which hotel accommodation is taxed.

| Fraud Investigation - Defence Estates |
Police investigations continue into the fraud allegations relating to DE staff. Click here to view/download a letter from the Civil Secretary relating to this matter.
The letter also contains the telephone numbers and email addresses for anyone who would like to pass on information relating to fraudulent activity. |
